I wanted to make something as if Joan of Arc and and angel had a baby and this was the result. I took a pause from designing about two years ago when my beloved kitty Chandler passed away after 20 years together. She was always with me, before after and during every creative project I ever made as an adult and to create without her is in so few words.. difficult.
A week after she passed I started to pull one tarot card per week where she guided me through the first few months of this inevidable grief. Strength was the first card she ever gave me, a woman caresses the head of a wild lion as he lets her feed him water. As Chan got sick she didn’t have the strength to eat or drink and one time I had brought her back to health this way, I was against all odds this time.
She spoke of my resistance, a message I will continue to read over.
In light of this we have sparkling The Strength Corset
Made from one designer textile sample, sequin lace, blue square design upholstery, hand beaded with pearls and glass beads, ties in the back for closure.
